Here’s another nudist curiosity – an educational nudist movie that at the time was widely touted as an ideal introduction to naturism.
Production values aren’t all that great and the acting is, shall we say, acceptable, but it has a certain charm about it.
The storyline is basic. A timid college student, Julie, is assigned to write a research paper on “Nudity in the 1980’s”. She and her boyfriend, Steve, visit several nudist clubs in England, the south of France and in Florida to learn about why people like nudism. And that’s it really.
Believe it or not, this was quite an influential movie at the time, so just in case you missed it first time round, here it is again, courtesy of Youtube. Enjoy.
A bevy of models, Playboy playmates and stars of reality shows, feature movies and video games are asking a federal judge to award them more than $1.6 million in compensation for the use of their images without permission or compensation.
The case has been brought against Caliente Resort and Spa, a popular resort in Land O’ Lakes Florida, who, it is alleged included their photos on websites and other promotional items and continued with the unauthorised use even after being sent a “cease and desist” letter in September.
The case continues. Read more. . .
CNN might not be best known as avid supporters of the nudist lifestyle, but they’ve come up with a list of 22 of what they consider to be the best places to skinny dip worldwide. The post also contains a slideshow of of the dazzling locations mentioned. Be warned! You might not need swimsuits, but you’re going to need deep pockets to take advantage of some of the places on offer! The locations really are worldwide, and include Japan, China, Croatia, the USA, France and loads more. Dear old UK only gets one mention, ( Lady Falls, near Brecon in Wales) but I can vouch for this one as it’s not a million miles from my home and I’ve used it several times. Unlike some of the others it’s free to use, but you’ll need to prepare yourself for the breathtaking coldness of the water when you take the plunge! If you’ve used any of the places mentioned, why not comment on your impressions?
Pirate’s Cove is one of the prettiest spots on California’s San Luis Obispo County’s southern coast, and one of the best nude beaches in the area. Up to now it’s always been a quiet, undeveloped spot passed over by the masses who head to Avila and Pismo. That may all change in the next couple years as the county converts the area to a public park, complete with a paved parking lot, improved trails and restrooms. Are we in danger of losing yet another fine beach? Read more here: http://www.sanluisobispo.com/2013/03/02/2413927/so-what-if-the-countys-only-nude.html
After hurricanes Sandy and Irene flattened the dunes on the Fire Island National Seashore, exposing beach views to the rest of the island, the National Park Service has decided to ban nude bathing because of the behaviour of some so-called “naturists”. Prostitution, voyeurism, exhibitionism, public sex and masturbation have all become problems at the beach surrounding the Fire Island Lighthouse. Yet another nudist resource lost, and another stain on the character of the nudist movement, because of the actions of these perverts masquerading as naturists. Sometimes, increasingly these days,I despair, I really do. . .
There are actually two beaches at College Cove, usually designated as north and south. The northern beach is easier to reach, and therefore tends to get busier.
The beach is a crescent shaped cove with about a quarter mile of sand and tons of driftwood. The water can be very cold, and this stretch of the coast is subject to fog.
· Take US 101 North out of Eureka.
· Take the turnoff leading to Trinidad. You will come to an intersection that forks either to Trinidad or Stage Coach Road
· Take the Stage Coach Road fork. Look for and park in a dirt lot less than mile down on the left.
· The north trail goes to College Cove North while the south trail leads to College Cove South.
Not clear. Is widely known as a popular and frequently used nudist venue, but has a history of some law enforcement. Use with caution.
Who goes there:
· On a good day, about 50 / 100 visitors over both beaches. Both beaches are popular with young singles, although most of them are textile. There is a higher percentage of nudists on the south beach, but even there they are in the minority.
· Some gawkers.
At low tide it is possible to walk between the two beaches.
