Half of Brits would dare to bare.

MORE than half of British holidaymakers would consider going on a nudist holiday, stripping off to sunbathe or visiting a naturist beach, according to a new report.

The survey from the lastNudist Brit Girlminute.com website revealed that more than a third of British men (35 per cent) said they would consider naked sunbathing this year and 14 per cent would go on a naturist holiday.

However, for women the corresponding figures were 17 per cent and six per cent.

Around eight per cent of those surveyed had been on a naturist holiday, but a third (33 per cent) of self-confessed nudists admitted to keeping it secret from friends, family and colleagues.

The most popular reason to bare all on the beach was to achieve an all-over tan (42 per cent), while 21 per cent did it to “reconnect with nature” and a fifth (20 per cent) wanted to “step out of their comfort zone”.

Andrew Welch, from British Naturism, the UK’s umbrella organisation for the pastime, said: “For those visiting a nudist beach for the first time, the best advice is to relax.

“Enjoy the sensation of the sun, breeze and sea on your whole body and realise that no-one is worried about how you look.”

Terror gang targets German nudists

Nudists were told they would be ‘exterminated’ after a gang of Muslims stormed into a German swimming pool yelling ‘Allahu Akbar’.
Bathers at a nudist beach in northwest Germany say they were insulted and threatened by a group of “Mediterranean-looking men,” one of whom reportedly shouted “Allahu Akhbar” at them.
Staff at the Freibad Xantener Südsee said they were forced to call the police after the men refused to stop abusing naked bathers at the resort, which is near the town of Wesel.
Eyewitnesses told the German newspaper Rheinische Post that the group “looked Mediterranean,” had beards, and wore their hair long.
They are alleged to have shouted “Islamic remarks” including “Allahu Akhbar,” according to another German newspaper, Junge Freiheit.

This is a worrying development as it’s the first time that nudists, already treated with suspicion and sometimes scorn by some sections of the population, have been directly targetted by extremists, if that was indeed who they were..
Now is not the time to panic. We must stay alert and look out for one another of course, but otherwise, to use an old British wartime slogan, we must “Keep calm and carry on”.
