Terror gang targets German nudists

Nudists were told they would be ‘exterminated’ after a gang of Muslims stormed into a German swimming pool yelling ‘Allahu Akbar’.
Bathers at a nudist beach in northwest Germany say they were insulted and threatened by a group of “Mediterranean-looking men,” one of whom reportedly shouted “Allahu Akhbar” at them.
Staff at the Freibad Xantener Südsee said they were forced to call the police after the men refused to stop abusing naked bathers at the resort, which is near the town of Wesel.
Eyewitnesses told the German newspaper Rheinische Post that the group “looked Mediterranean,” had beards, and wore their hair long.
They are alleged to have shouted “Islamic remarks” including “Allahu Akhbar,” according to another German newspaper, Junge Freiheit.

This is a worrying development as it’s the first time that nudists, already treated with suspicion and sometimes scorn by some sections of the population, have been directly targetted by extremists, if that was indeed who they were..
Now is not the time to panic. We must stay alert and look out for one another of course, but otherwise, to use an old British wartime slogan, we must “Keep calm and carry on”.

Naturism dying on Western Australian Beach?

Broome Nudist Beach

Since the 1960s, naturists have gathered on a section of Broome’s famous Cable Beach known as “north of the rocks”, to sunbake, fish and swim in the nude.
But veterans of the scene say about a decade ago, things began to change. The local tourism industry boomed, and suddenly, the nudists were coming under close scrutiny.
Read this great article on the decline of nudism in the area. And if you can, get along there, strip off, and give the local nudists some support!

London’s first naked restaurant opens this weekend with 46,000 people on the waiting list

London’s first nude “pop-up” restaurant opened its doors to the public on Saturday (June 11th)

Nude Dining (Stock Photo)

The Bunyadi, as it’s called, was first announced back in April, since when 46,000 people have applied for tickets, which cost £69 each. But The Bunyadi, open in a secret location for three months, only fits 42 people at a time.
The idea is that everything is naked – from the diners to the decor to the food, which is made with raw ingredients and cooked naturally. There’s no electricity and no phones.
“The idea is to experience true liberation,” Seb Lyall, the founder of pop-up company Lollipop which is behind the event, said in a press release. “People should get the chance to enjoy and experience a night out without any impurities.”
Whilst nude dining and naked restaurants and bars are by no means a new idea, The Bunyadi seems to have captured the public imagination in a unique way. Although I’m not a fan of posh dining au naturel myself, in the prevailing climate of new prudery it’s great to see a new nude venue opening up. I wish them every success.

UK Nudists disappointed at stripped beach ruling

Naturist beach, Budleigh Salterton - - 1417852 UK naturists have lost their bid to extend the clothes-free area of a favourite beach after the existing section was rendered “too uncomfortable” to sit on.
There had been calls to increase the length of Devon’s Budleigh Salterton’s nudist beach by 200 yards (183m), after the tide washed away pebbles and left hard “bedrock” behind.
But Budleigh Salterton town council argued it was possible to put a “towel or lilo down” within the existing section.
It voted against the move.

Woman Is Wounded in Stabbing at a Florida Nudist Resort

Nudist Resort Logo An unidentified 18-year-old woman who took time out of a cycling tour to spend Saturday night at the Sunsport Gardens Nudist Resort in Loxahatcheea Florida was hospitalized early Sunday with stab wounds, according to local police.

While exploring the resort’s 40 acres on Sunday morning, the woman went out on a nature trail. A person she described as “young” confronted and stabbed her without warning or provocation.

Fortunately her wounds aren’t serious. There were no witnesses and it was unknown whether the assailant lived at the resort.

This is shocking news, not only for the young lady but for the whole naturist movement, which prides itself on the safety, friendliness and usually crime-free nature of any naturist gathering.

However there is nothing to indicate that this was anything other than an entirely random attack, totally unconnected with the nudist environment in which it took place. So, unless evidence to the contrary emerges, let’s just send best wishes for a speedy recovery to the victim, and hope that the authorities find, and punish, the culprit swiftly.

Moscow Closes Best Known Nudist Beach

Moscow nudists may soon lose their best-known and most popular beach in the Serebryany Bor natural park, as city authorities plan to expel the naturists from their traditional hangout in western Moscow and turn it into a regular beach.
The suggestion to transform the beach, which has been used by nudists for almost 30 years, is in line with a rapidly developing trend of promoting conservative values and banning anything that the authorities, often supported by the Orthodox Church, label as non-traditional to Russian culture, from what officials describe as gay propaganda to erotic scenes in the writings of classic Russian writers.

South Korea to get Nudist Beach?

We’re hearing rumours that South Korea might get its first nude beach by 2017.
Apparently officials Gangwon Province are aiming to set up South Korea’s first nude beach in an attempt to boost the country’s east coast beaches, which lose out every year to the west coast in luring summer visitors from the capital Seoul.
This is not the first time the subject has been broached by government officials.
Gangwon Province tried to launch a female-only nude beach in 2005, while Gangneung City also deliberated, but ultimately scrapped, a nude beach idea due to public outcry. The same happened to a Jeju Island proposal in 2009.
Cynics see history repeating itself here, but if the country can push this through, (and re-aasure western visitors–especially female visitors–that their safety is a prime concern,) then Korea may be on to a winner.
